Cheiloplasty
For those who feel their lips don't suit their face.

Lips that are very full, asymmetrical or irregular in contour can take away the naturalness of a smile. Some concerns are present from birth; others come from previous fillers. Cheiloplasty surgically reshapes the lips, respecting the proportions of your face.
Who it is for
-
People whose lips are too full for their face
-
People with lip asymmetry or an irregular contour
-
People who show too much inner lip when smiling
How it is done
The incisions are made on the inside of the lip, so there is no visible scar. We remove the excess tissue and reshape the contour. Local anesthesia, with the option of conscious sedation. It takes 40 minutes to 1 hour.
Recovery
-
First few days: Swelling and a soft, cold diet
-
7 to 10 days: Absorbable stitches fall out on their own; swelling goes down
-
3 to 4 weeks: The contour takes shape
-
2 to 3 months: Final appearance
Care and risks
Swelling, temporary asymmetry and temporary changes in sensation may occur. The amount of tissue removed is carefully planned, because the goal is harmony, not lips that are too thin.
Frequently asked questions
-
Will there be a scar? Not a visible one: the incisions are inside the mouth.
-
Can old fillers be corrected? Often, yes. We assess whether the best route is enzyme, surgery or a combination of both.
-
Does it affect speech? The lip is swollen for the first few days, but speech quickly returns to normal.
If your lips bother you, let's talk calmly about the options.
