Buccal Fat Removal
For those who feel their face is too round in the cheek area.

Buccal fat pads (Bichat's fat pads) are fat structures inside the cheeks. When they are large, they make the midface look round. Buccal fat removal reduces this volume through an incision inside the mouth, with no external scar.
Who it is for
-
People with full cheeks and a round face
-
People who often bite their cheeks because of excess volume
-
People seeking a more defined facial contour, after assessment
How it is done
A small incision is made in the inner lining of the cheek, and part of the fat pad is carefully removed. Local anesthesia, with the option of conscious sedation. It takes 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Recovery
-
First few days: Swelling and a soft, cold diet
-
7 days: Absorbable stitches; back to your routine
-
1 month: Swelling goes down considerably
-
3 to 6 months: Final contour
Care and risks
Removing too much can leave the face hollow over the years. That is why we assess age, bone structure and facial volume, and remove only what is necessary. Not every face benefits from buccal fat removal, and we say so clearly during the assessment.
Frequently asked questions
-
How is it different from non-surgical buccal fat reduction? The non-surgical option uses injections to reduce volume gradually. The surgical option removes the fat pad permanently.
-
Will there be a scar? Not a visible one: the incision is inside the mouth.
If the shape of your face bothers you, let's talk it through calmly.
