Upper and lower blepharoplasty
For when your eyes look tired, even after a good night's sleep.

Excess skin on the upper eyelids and bags under the eyes make many people hear “are you tired?” when they are not. In some cases, the skin even weighs down on the lashes. Blepharoplasty treats these changes with incisions planned to stay hidden.
Who it is for
-
People with excess skin on the upper eyelids
-
People with fat bags under the eyes
-
People whose eyes feel heavy or look tired
How it is done
-
Upper: the incision sits in the natural crease of the eyelid; we remove excess skin and, when needed, fat.
-
Lower: depending on the case, the bag is treated from inside the eyelid (no external scar) or through an incision just below the lashes.
Local anesthesia, with the option of conscious sedation. It takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on the technique.
Recovery
-
First 48 hours: Cold compresses, head elevated, swelling and bruising
-
5 to 7 days: Stitches removed
-
10 to 15 days: Bruising fades; back to social life
-
2 to 3 months: Scar matures
Care and risks
Temporary dry eye, asymmetry and a more visible scar may occur. We assess your eye health beforehand and, if needed, request an ophthalmologic evaluation.
